Carry out maintenance, repairs and inspection activities on components, using diverse tools and techniques, with limited supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Repair and replace parts, following instructions and technical equipment manuals.
Interpret basic mechanical designs and maintenance manuals for assembling and dismantling to make necessary alignments and adjustments.
Perform maintenance tasks independently and verify task results and tracks operating equipment to detect possible problems.
Report and document executed work according to relevant procedures and work instructions.
Explain basic operating procedures to the customer and refer to responsible/relevant person.
Give feedback to line manager/team leader with regards to equipment maintenance and service challenges.
Prepare and execute all activities in line with SHEQ rules, regulations, procedures, instructions, guidelines, and promote awareness, including addressing anomalies to others.
Profile Required
Grade 12/equivalent qualification
Trade Certificate – Fitter (accompanied by apprenticeship contract or apprenticeship portfolio of evidence)
Relevant mining experience (5 years)
Relevant mechanised mining experience (5 years)
Underground/surface mining environment
Maintenance of earthmoving equipment in mining/construction environment
Physical and medical ability to work in a mining environment
