Identify material defects and correct them through defect removal
Perform roll grinding - while ensuring removal of all defects to final correct size
Ensure Compliance with Safety regulations by performing regular safety inspections, reporting of unsafe acts, ensuring equipment repair and maintaining all systems intended to ensure a safe workplace.
Controlling roll removal by actively grinding just what is needed from the rolls.
Strip and build shocks - preparation of rolls, building of sets as per SWI.
Ensure adhere to critical adjustments on shock sets, and update of (RSMS) Roll shop Management System.
Strip and build shock sets as quickly as possible to prevent delays on the Mills from waiting for sets.
Qualification
National Senior Certificate/Grade 12-with Mathematics and Science (N4)
Experience
3-5 years as operator in manufaturing environment
Experience in Rollshop/Workshop environment will be advantageous
