    Assembler - Trasfor Active Part

    You as an Assembler, will be part of Power Grids business based in Modderfontein , South Africa. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you are responsible to assemble transformer active parts to the relevant specifications, maintaining stipulated quality standards whilst continuously striving to improve productivity.

    Your Responsibilities

    • Interpreting and implementation of technical information: Ensuring that you use only the latest revision documentation. Ensuring that the relevant technical instructions such as production standards, drawings, parts lists as well as SOP‘s are fully understood with no ambiguity prior to commencement of winding.
    • Assembling: Ensuring that assembling is done in accordance with relevant assembly instructions, drawings and related procedures. Ensuring that all intermittent physical checks / measurements are recorded as stipulated on the quality inspection cards. Any deviation outside prescribed parameters to be reported to Supervisor and investigated.
    • Reporting: Bring any apparent mistakes or misleading information on technical documents to the Supervisor’s attention. If unsure seek clarification. Should the need arise, fill out relevant documentation to initiate change request. Report all product non compliances. Report any problems regarding assembly equipment, tools and measuring equipment to supervisor who will in turn report the matter to the maintenance department.
    • Continuous Improvement: To participate in meetings, training, discussions and other group activities in order to strive for improved Quality, Productivity, Safety, etc.
    • SHE: To ensure that all safety requirements contained in the works instructions as well as safe working procedures are adhered to
    • Safety and Integrity : Living core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues, and the business.

    Your background

    • Matric or NQF equivalent is required.
    • More than 3 years of assembly experience in a transformer factory or in a related industry doing similar work.
    • In the use of the required measuring equipment such as tape measures etc.
    • Able to interpret assembly instructions, drawings as well as relevant standard operating procedures.
    • Fully conversant in the English language (reading & spoken).
    • Safe use of pneumatic, electrical and hand tools.
    • Experienced in using brazing equipment.
    • Prior Crane Driver experience is beneficial.
