The Asset Engineer ensures optimal asset availability and reliability throughout the equipment lifecycle by developing maintenance strategies, improving equipment performance, managing maintenance systems and spare parts, supporting new asset implementation, and driving continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and continuously improve proactive and cost-effective maintenance strategies to enhance equipment reliability, maintainability, safety, and product quality.
Analyze recurring equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions to reduce downtime and improve productivity.
Plan and schedule maintenance activities to maximize proactive work, support production plans, and meet safety, quality, and cost objectives.
Prepare and manage maintenance plans and budgets while reviewing equipment reliability and recommending improvements where required.
Manage spare parts requirements, stock levels, supplier relationships, technical specifications, and budget compliance.
Ensure maintenance activities and data are accurately maintained within SAP, CMMS, and related systems.
Support machinery procurement, technical specification reviews, installation, commissioning, and handover to production.
Maintain asset registers, risk assessments, and equipment documentation in compliance with legislative and internal requirements.
Lead or participate in projects that improve safety, quality, productivity, equipment performance, and engineering design.
Promote compliance with PMI quality, environmental, health, and safety standards.
Who We're Looking For
Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years' recent experience in a production or operations environment.
Minimum 5 years' experience in asset and maintenance management, including developing and implementing maintenance strategies as an Asset Engineer.
Experience in global manufacturing will be advantageous.
Strong technical knowledge of production processes, materials, equipment, and maintenance strategy.
Ability to provide technical support and training to less experienced professionals and coordinate the work of others.
Proven experience in spare parts and supplier management.
Experience applying engineering design skills to improve equipment performance.
Strong ability to prioritize competing demands.
Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office.
Proficiency in written and verbal English.
Ability to work independently and lead highly complex projects.
