Assistant Accountant at Oceana Group Limited

An Assistat Accountant position has become available in the Finance Department. This position is based in Stompneus Bay, West Coast. The succesful incumbent will be responsible supporting the finance team with all finance related tasks and will report directly to the Financial Accountant.

Key responsibilities

Financial Management

• Day-to-day accounting systems/transactions monitored and reviewed: General Ledger, GRIR Account, Debtors, Fixed Assets, Bank, Payroll, Charges Recoverable, Taxation
• Reconciliation of Intercompany Customer, Supplier and Loan accounts
• Intercompany confirmations
• Intercompany revenue schedules
• Journals prepared
• General Ledger reconciliations compiled

Reporting and Audits

• Input to monthly and annual audit packs prepared
• Quarterly report packs compiled
• Year-end preparation and Year-end Audit deliverables

Budgets and Forecasts

• Annual budgets and quarterly forecasts prepared

Internal Controls

• Internal controls implemented and monitored

Minimum requirements:

Qualifications and Experience:

• B. Comm (Accounting) Degree or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in the Fishing or FMCG environment

Knowledge and Skills:

• SAP experience is required (2 years of experience working of the following modules: FI, AR and AP)
• Microsoft Office packages
• Microsoft excel - advanced level.
• High degree of current technical accounting and taxation knowledge
