Assistant Analyst - Modderfontein at AECI Limited

Job Description    

• Perform routine analysis on environmental samples, raw materials, in process samples and final products.
• Can be required to assist in the development of test methods.
• Assist with updating of test methods, operating instructions and other documentation.
• Responsible for some of the equipment used in the laboratory.
• Assist with requirements for the maintenance of the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard.
• Comply with and implement Safety, Health and Environment standards.
• Collect and deliver samples and results to and from the various plants and customers.
• Assist with various duties for the effective operation of the laboratory:
• Cleaning of glassware
• Changing of gas cylinders
• Housekeeping
• Lab administration

Qualifications & Experience    

• Matric / Grade 12.
• BSc / B Tech in Analytical Chemistry or NQF equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years’ practical experience in Analytical Chemistry.
• Sound Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry knowledge.
• Report writing.
•    Drivers licence.
• Understanding of Chemistry, product lines and materials within the Analytical Chemistry sector.
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience of the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard.
• Good laboratory practises.
• Know-how of various advanced analytical chemistry techniques.
• Processing and calculation of data and results.
