Assistant Construction Manager - Optipower ( Wolf ) at Murray & Roberts

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the management of construction activities on site
• Assist with the management of resources on site
• Assist with the management of Contractors on site
• Collate and report daily progress to the Construction Manager
• Analyze, manage and mitigate risks
• Ensuring that no employee carries out any work that he is not competent to perform
• Ensuring that all Work Procedures applicable to the work carried out under your supervision are adhered to and are fully implemented
• Ensuring that all construction work is performed under your supervision and is carried out by persons suitably trained and competent to do such work
• Planning ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
• Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
• Assist with the management of quality assurance and control in your work area
• Role model appropriate behavior consistent with company policies, standards & procedures.

Minimum requirements

Qualifications:

• Electrical or Mechanical Engineering National Diploma or equivalent (advantageous)
• SACPCMP Certification (advantageous)
• Construction Regulations
• OHS Act
• Legal Liability
• HIRA 

Experience;

• Minimum of 5 years’ construction management experience on Tx and Dx substation projects
• Site operations and management exposure
• Project Management exposure
• Construction environment
• High job demand in tight turnaround time requirement
• Highly developed managerial skills

• On-site Quality Control
