    Assistant Director

    • Package : R 487 197.00 Per annum (Plus benefits)

    Requirements :

    • Senior Certificate plus National Diploma (NQF Level 6)/ Degree recognised by SAQA in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management or a related field.
    • A minimum of five (5) years in supply chain management of which three (3) years should be at supervisory level (level 7 or 8). A post graduate qualification in the field may be an added advantage.
    • The candidate must have in-depth knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPPFA), Treasury Regulations, the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) Act, SCM National Treasury Instruction notes, Code of conduct of SCM practitioners, Tender ACT, PSA, PSR, Code of Conduct of Public Servants, OHSA, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Fraud, Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities Act and the Supply Chain Management Framework.
    • A comprehensive understanding of the entire supply chain cycle, including demand planning, acquisition, logistics, asset disposal, and supplier relationship management, is essential, along with knowledge of asset management practices and National Treasury guidelines.
    • The ideal candidate must demonstrate advanced administrative, planning, and organisational skills, as well as competencies in financial management, report writing, and project coordination. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are critical. Proficiency in relevant computer applications (Excel, Ms Word, SAP, SRM, IMS, Webcycle, SCoA, BAS), Inventory management, Just in time ordering, Economic Order quantity, FIFO, FEFO, Contract Management, Supervision, PMDS, conflict management, client-focused service delivery, leadership, and effective team and people management are expected.
    • High levels of integrity, professionalism, technical expertise, and a commitment to service excellence are key attributes required for this role. A valid driver’s licence.

    Duties :

    • The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of Supply Chain Management (SCM) policies in line with relevant legislation and regulations.
    • This includes ensuring effective provisioning, procurement, physical and theoretical inventory management, transiting management, GRV, asset management, Internal and external stakeholder management, contract management, web cycle management, payment of suppliers, operational and demand plan development and monitoring, Human resource management and development and reporting, while conducting policy awareness across the institution.
    • The incumbent will manage and monitor overall supply chain management performance, develop SOPs, develop risk management strategies, develop quality and audit improvement plans and attend to audit queries.
