A Grade 12 is required coupled with a minimum National Diploma (equivalent to an NQF level 6) or 10 years experience in Information Systems, Computer Science or Information Technology or related field.
A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in IT as a supervisor. A valid driver’s license. People with disabilities without valid driver’s licenses will be assisted by the department to meet work related travel obligations. Knowledge of Configurations Management. Knowledge of departmental systems (BAS, HIS SAP, PERSAL, etc.).
IT Risk Management practices. Knowledge of relevant legislations like Public Finance Management Act, ECT Act. IT network hardware and software. Knowledge of current technology developments and future trends. Service level agreement. Employee performance and management systems. Project management principle. Service delivery framework.
Good verbal and written communication skills. Strong leadership skills. Good inter-personal relations skills. Planning, analysis, conceptualizing and problem-solving skills. Change management skills. Time management. Customer relations management skills. Hospital background will be added an advantage.
Duties :
Provide Technical network and system support services to all departmental users. Implement and maintain the IT infrastructure plan of the department to ensure optimal service performance. Implement and maintain IT security controls to ensure continuity of service. Management Support in departmental transversal application systems
Facilitation of ICT Governance Implementation and Monitoring; Coordinate Departmental ICT Strategies and Policy Implementation; Ensure compliance with relevant legislative, statutory, regulatory, and supervisory requirements towards the achievement of component projects and goals; Human Resource Management.
