    Assistant Manager Aerodrome Emergency Management Services - Patterson Grade C5

    Key Performance Outputs

    The successful candidate, reporting to the Manager: Fire and Rescue will be responsible for the following:

    • Ensure adherence to ICAO, SACAA, OHS Act and Municipal by Laws relating to all emergencies/incidents or accidents.
    • Manage the Airports Emergency Procedures Manual and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with all stakeholders.
    • Develop an effective disaster response plan, undertake regular testing in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures, ICAO requirements and SACAA Legislation.
    • Adhere to relevant statutory/legislative regulations, SOPs, operational standards, ACSA policies and procedures, employee manual and Service Level Agreements/MOU to ensure business continuity.
    • Attend relevant committee meetings.
    • Conduct Post Incident debrief sessions with participation by relevant role player organisations involved in emergency incident.
    • Analysis of current systems and improvement thereof where required.
    • Continuous research and development within area of expertise to ensure international best practice.
    • Implementation of cost saving initiatives to ensure financial sustainability.
    • Develop and implement a stakeholder auditing system.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to reduce potential hazards and take remedial action
    • Monitor, identify, mitigate and report areas of non-compliance (HIRA).
    • Establish and chair monthly “Emergency Management” Committee and submit monthly reports.

    Technical Skills and Experience

    The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such, will be required:

    • Diploma in Emergency Management is essential or any other relevant.
    • 3 years Fire & Rescue operational experience is essential or any aother other relevant.
    • Supervisory experience is essential
    • Code EC; Articulated heavy vehicle driver’s license
    • MS Office Intermediate level
    • Detailed knowledge of Airside, Landside and Terminal Operations
    • Knowledge of applicable legislation, Statutory requirements and Standard operating procedures
