Grade 12. Basic qualification accredited with the South Africa Nursing Council in terms of Government Notice 425, i.e. Diploma/Degree in Nursing as a professional nurse.
A minimum of 8 years of appropriate and recognizable experience in Nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council. Diploma/Degree in Nursing Management/ Health Service Management qualification registered with the South African Nursing Council.
At least 3 years of the period referred above must be appropriate recognizable experience at the management level in a health care facility, i.e., Operational /Unit Manager level.
Current South African Nursing Council annual practicing certificate. Valid driver`s license. Computer literacy. Strong leadership skills, Knowledge of health programmes, good communication skills, and sound interpersonal skills are necessary
Duties :
Monitor and coordinate the provision of effective patient care through adequate nursing care. Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with nursing and other stakeholders (i.e., inter-professional, inter-sectoral, and multi-disciplinary teamwork).
Participate in the analysis, formulation, and implementation of nursing guidelines, practices, standards, and procedures. Manage Human Resources and Performance Management & Development System. Monitor and ensure proper utilization of financial and material resources.
Good problem-solving skills. Maintain professional growth, ethical, and the development of self and Subordinates. Implementation and monitoring of Continuous Professional Development. Provide guidance and mentorship to Operational managers under her/his supervision. Knowledge of data management in the hospital setting.
Clear understanding and implementation of the Ideal Hospital Realization framework. Broad knowledge of the management of Patient Safety Incidents. Knowledge of Health risk management within the hospital
