Grade 12. Basic R425 qualification (i.e. degree/diploma in nursing or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
A minimum of 8 years appropriate/recognisable experience in Nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Post basic Degree/diploma in Nursing Administration/Health service management.
At least 3 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognisable experience at management level as Operational Manager. Must have a driver’s licence. Must be computer literate.
Duties :
Overall coordination, implementation and monitoring of the strategic objectives of nursing, the hospital and the Department of Health. Effective management and coordination of quality nursing care within set standards and within legal and professional frameworks. Manage and facilitate both human resources and financial aspects related to the hospital.
Management of information through the collection and analysis of data, report writing and development and implementation of relevant interventions.
Policy development and implementation. Ensure that clinical nursing practice are rendered by the nursing team and promote quality of nursing care as directed by scope of practice and standards.
