Basic qualification accredited with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) that allows registration with the SAPC as a Pharmacist. registration with the SAPC as a Pharmacist.
A minimum of three (3) years’ appropriate experience after registration with SAPC as a Pharmacist. Five (5) years’ experience in management or supervisory role.
Experience in the Public health Sector will serve as an added advantage. Competencies: Experience in management of a pharmacy. Supervisory skills. Report writing skills, analysis of data. Complaints management skills. Computer skills. Good communication skills.
Duties :
Overall management within the pharmacy. To register as the Responsible Pharmacist. Management of the pharmacy budget. Provision of financial, budget and expenditure management, with a focus on procurement practices and ensuring sound management of the annual pharmaceutical services budget. Ensure availability and accessibility of medicine.
Effective and efficient procurement management in accordance with the Public Finance Management Act, National Treasury regulations and Provincial Policies. Promote the use of the Standard Treatment Guidelines and Essential Medicines List. Support Pharmacovigilance activities and develop systems for adverse drug reactions reporting.
The provision of HR management within the department, which includes but is not limited to: PMDS of staff, HR administration, Labour relations, Training and development. Registration as a tutor with SAPC for the purpose of training Pharmacist interns and Pharmacist Assistants. Project management within the pharmacy department. Ensure participation of staff in research. Facilitating compliance to the Ideal Hospital Framework prescripts and OHSC requirements.
Development of Quality Improvement Plans. Provision of strategic direction to the pharmacy, which will include serving as a member on various committees at the institution and within the province, conducting relevant meetings as delegated, including secretarial support for the PTC meetings and its sub- committees. Ensure quality pharmaceutical services in line with Batho Pele Principles. Prepare to do overtime when need arise.
