Basic qualification accredited with SANC in terms of government notice R425 (i.e. Diploma / Degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as Professional Nurse.
Current registration with relevant health regulatory body. Basic computer literacy. Minimum 8 years appropriate / recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a professional nurse. Minimum 5 years’ experience in quality patient care and at least 3 years’ experience in a management position.
Duties :
The incumbent will be responsible for the management of the Clinical Audit System of the Hospital. Ensure effective and sustainable implementation and management of Standard Compliance.
Co-ordinate the appointment and the activities of the Quality Assurance committee. Co-ordinate the reporting and investigation of the Patient Safety Incidents in the hospital.
Ensure compliance to National and Provincial Clinical Guidelines including the Ideal Hospital Framework. Manage the Customer Care programme in the hospital by putting in place the system for complaints management, patient experience surveys and providing information to the service users (marketing the services to the communities).
Be part of the institutional and provincial QA forums. Ensure quality standards and compliance prevail in the hospital. Facilitate training on all quality assurance matters. Manage and collate waiting times timeously.
Knowledge of health legislative framework. Excellent communication problem solving, interpersonal analytic and report writing skills. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Knowledge of healthcare standards and health care compliance.
