    Assistant Production Manager

    Job Description

    • A well-established concrete manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Assistant Production Manager with strong leadership skills and a hands-on approach to support daily factory operations.
    • The successful candidate will work closely with the Production Manager to ensure production targets, quality standards, safety requirements, and operational efficiencies are consistently achieved in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist in managing daily factory and production operations to maximise efficiency and productivity.
    • Support production planning and ensure production targets and deadlines are achieved.
    • Monitor workflow, staffing, machine utilisation, and production output.
    • Ensure production processes comply with company standards and operating procedures.
    • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
    • Supervise production staff, allocate resources, and support workforce planning.
    • Provide coaching, guidance, and performance support to production teams.
    • Maintain quality standards and assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Assist with safety inspections, incident reporting, and maintaining a safe working environment.
    • Prepare production reports, monitor KPIs, and maintain production documentation.
    • Coordinate effectively with production, maintenance, quality, and logistics teams.

    Requirements:

    • Previous experience in a manufacturing or factory production environment.
    • Experience supervising teams and managing production activities.
    • Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Good understanding of production processes, quality control, and continuous improvement.
    • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
    • Computer literacy with experience preparing reports and monitoring KPIs.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
    • Valid driver's licence is advantageous.
