Assistant Technical Manager at Mediclinic

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

• Under the supervision of the Technical Manager oversee the technical team and manage, improve, and optimise the technical operations within the facility. 
• To act as the management representative for quality management, continuous improvement, and occupational health safety related to the engineering aspects of the facilities.
• The core purpose of this position is to perform maintenance on buildings and equipment to ensure that assets are upheld to their original state.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• Oversee the management and maintenance of building, plant and equipment
• Manage and support technical projects within the Hospital
• Manage and mitigate Technical Operations risk within the Hospital
• Oversee and manage on-site contractors/suppliers in the Hospital
• Ensure quality management and continuous improvement within Technical Operations
• To manage stakeholder relations and client service within the technical environment at Mediclinic
• Lead and manage the people in the technical team
• Manage and control department budget/finances

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

• NQF level 6 Engineering qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with Thermodynamics and Electro Technology passed at 2nd-year level.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 4 years’ of post-graduate engineering experience with HVAC and auxiliary electrical power supplies exposure.

• Experience within a facility management environment
