Brief Description
The successful applicant will be a South African with a strong masters qualification in the field, familiar with undergraduate Sociology at Wits, and have his/her doctoral degree well underway.
S/he will be expected to contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, as well as to overall DPS programme activities.
There will be ample time and opportunity to ensure good progress with doctoral research which should be timeously completed in the course of the associate lectureship. The successful applicant will be expected to start work at the beginning of the 2024 academic year.
The post will be a 3-year contract appointment. The usual Wits University benefits will apply and salary and conditions of service will be as for Associate Lecturers in the Faculty of Humanities.
