    Associate Professor/ Senior Lecturer/ Lecturer: Industrial and Organisational Psychology (4218)

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Facilitate learning and teaching of Industrial and Organisational Psychology, Employment Relations and Human Resources at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
    • Conduct and publish research in accredited journals and present research papers at conferences.
    • Supervise postgraduate students (Honours and Master’s)
    • Co-ordinate postgraduate programmes
    • Provide academic administration and academic leadership
    • Work closely with the other members of the Department of Industrial and Organisational Psychology as well as those from the School of Industrial Psychology and Human Resource Management

    CORE COMPETENCIES

    • Knowledge of theory and application in Industrial and Organisational Psychology, Employment Relations and Human Resource Management
    • To co-ordinate Masters programmes specifically in the field of Industrial and Organisational Psychology
    • To facilitate learning and teaching at under- and post-graduate levels
    • To plan, conduct, present and publish research
    • To supervise postgraduate students
    • To administer and co-ordinate modules involving large numbers of students
    • To provide academic administration and academic leadership

    REQUIREMENTS

    To be considered for appointment to the Associate Professor post, candidates must:

    • Be in possession of a doctoral degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology.
    • Be professionally registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as an Industrial Psychologist.
    • Have three to seven years relevant experience in lecturing at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
    • Have relevant leadership experience.
    • Have published journal articles in accredited journals.
    • Have presented research findings at conferences.
    • Have a track record of successful research supervision of postgraduate students.
