    Attendant: Melting

    Purpose of Role:

    • To assist with melting and casting in melting department.

    Key Responsibilities: 

    • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture. Operate machines / equipment in accordance with safe work instructions.
    • Mould management:. Pull out poured ingot moulds. Clean and re-line ingot moulds. Assist in the casting of mould by switching on the siren before transferring metal from the furnace to the casting bay
    • Sand mixer: To operate the sand mixer as per work instructions.
    • Casting process: Assist in the casting process by adding hot topping on the feeders.

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: 

    • Matric (Grade 12); or relevant qualification with minimum 12 to 24 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Valid forklift license
    • Overhead crane license
    • Ability to read and interpret documents.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
