    Audiologist Grade1

    Requirements :

    • Qualification in Audiology or Speech Therapy & Audiology, registration with HPCSA. Independent practice registration with HPCSA. Current registration with the HPCSA for 2025/2026

    Competencies:

    • Knowledge and skill in adult and paediatric hearing screening, diagnostic hearing assessments and hearing aid fittings. Preference will be given to those applicants who have experience with vestibular and electrophysiology assessments.
    • Ability to work as a team, planning, organizing, coordinating, and communication skills. Ability to engage in solution-based problem solving. Display empathy for patients, promote advocacy and facilitate holistic treatment.
    • Applicants should be prepared to undergo medical surveillance as an inherent job requirement. Community service Audiologist completing their contracts on or before 31 December 2025 are encouraged to apply.

    Duties :

    • To conduct adult and paediatric audiological procedures in accordance with best practice guidelines and engage in clinical research. To ensure that clinical resources are maintained according to protocols, which includes biological checks and reporting of faults. To work within a multidisciplinary team within professional boundaries.
    • To supervise community service therapists and students. To comply with Performance Management processes. To participate in departmental team building and projects. To adhere to infection control procedures and assist with maintaining accreditation requirements.
