Ensure Learners under your supervision adhere to all relevant safety standards and procedures.
Active participation in SLAMs, HPHs, relevant Risk Assessments and close-out of Safety Actions.
Performance and Delivery
Equipment and Machinery Maintenance:
Maintain and test all light motor vehicles, mobile cranes, or other relevant equipment/machinery to ensure functionality, safety, reliability, and availability to complete jobs within the specified timeframe and budgetary limits.
Conduct inspections to identify possible failures and repair or raise notifications for repairs.
Ensure adequate maintenance of HME / plant equipment and related machinery to ensure optimal utilisation and availability toward maximising production and throughput schedule.
Identify and report defects, equipment failures and time required to repair the Supervisor to enable applicable decision-making, action planning and problem resolution.
Ensure work is executed as per Operating Model standards and procedures.
Ensure job cards are completed in full and returned on time.
Ensure all toolboxes and tools are kept in good condition.
Ensure proper communication and handover of outstanding tasks between shifts and day-shift teams.
Continuously monitor maintenance progress and related preparation activities against ad hoc to meet operational targets, minimise downtime, enable timely reporting and enhance equipment efficiency.
Assistance and Practices:
Provide proactive advice on all maintenance-related matters and ad hoc jobs to all concerned parties, aligned with best practices and within agreed-upon timeframes, to avoid possible problems and uplift the competence base.
Liaise with relevant personnel to arrange assistance regarding resources required (equipment and people) to ensure successful task execution.
Assist the supervisor and co-workers according to their level/area of competence and follow company policies when instructed or during the responsible person's absence to ensure the achievement of functional objectives.
Qualifications:
Grade 12 Certificate / N3 Technical
Qualified as an Artisan (Auto Electrician)
SA Drivers Licence
MV Certificate (advantageous)
Experience
Technical Knowledge
2 Years’ operational experience.
Knowledge of safety standards.
Familiarity with company policies and procedures.
Experience with PLC exposure and high and low voltage fault finding.
Expertise in systems and technology, including H1 communication systems, Profibus systems, S7 PLC programming, optic fibre communication, and high voltage networks 11 kv.
