Automation Specialist I Contract at IQbusiness

Job Description

• Our Innovative Analysis Team is seeking an Automation Specialist for a 12 month contract opportunity to design, develop, and maintain automated systems and processes to improve operational efficiency and productivity in mining.
• This role involves identifying automation opportunities, analysing workflows, and delivering solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructure.
• You will work closely with testing teams to validate and troubleshoot automation, while ensuring clear documentation for knowledge transfer and ongoing optimisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify, design, and implement automation solutions using RPA, scripting, and workflow tools.
• Analyse existing workflows and processes to uncover automation potential.
• Integrate automated systems with ERP, MES, SCADA, and other operational platforms.
• Collaborate with QA/testing teams to ensure functionality and resolve issues.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation to support knowledge transfer.
• Support continuous improvement and optimisation of automation solutions
• Leverage platforms such as Bizagi (advantageous)

Required Experience & Skills:

• 5+ years’ experience in automation, systems integration, or process improvement roles.
• Hands-on experience with RPA platforms (e.g., UiPath, Blue Prism) and workflow automation tools (Bizagi advantageous).
• Experience integrating automated solutions with existing enterprise systems and infrastructure
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Qualifications:

• Matric
• Degree or Diploma in Engineering, IT, Automation, or related field
• Certification in BPM, Process Automation, Lean/Six Sigma, or Project Management (advantageous)
