Backend Software Developer at AVeS Cyber Security

You will work closely with our Practice architects and other consultants to deliver A-quality Services to AVeS Cyber Security that will in turn be published to our clients, here’s how:

• Research, Design and Development of new Solutions and Systems.
• Testing and evaluating new solutions.
• Identifying areas for modification in existing solutions and developing these changes.
• Writing and implementing efficient code.
• Deploying solutions processes and metrics.
• Integrating solutions and third-party programs or applications.
• Troubleshoot, Debug and upgrade new and existing solutions.
• Create technical documentation for referencing and reporting.
• Plug into AVeS team to understand where application development may increase productivity and customer experience.
• Knowledge of Development Lifecycles
• Uphold AVeS development standards and processes.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Supporting the Business Practices and stakeholders as per the defined KPI’s.
• Maintaining MSA/SLA agreements and executing the contractual agreements.
• Executing all other work according to defined KPI’s.

Qualifications

Mandatory qualifications:

• Matric.
• Certifications relating to the requirements listed throughout this job description.

Advantageous qualifications:

• Vendor certifications.

Experience

Mandatory experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of administration working experience.
• Knowledge and experience in coding languages (C#, Apache, MySQL, PHP, HTML, JavaScript, Java) and frameworks/systems (e.g. AngularJS) and version control systems (e.g. Git).
• Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment.
• Experience in Linux system administration.
• Experience with databases and Object-Relational Mapping frameworks.
• Proven experience as a Backend Software Developer, Software Engineer or similar role.
• Experience working with CRM systems and backend development of such systems.

Advantageous experience:

• Knowledge in Python, and API Soap/Rest would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of the OWASP-10 framework and principles.

Skills & Competencies

Mandatory (and minimum) skills requirements:

• Ability to learn new languages and technologies.
• Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English, and other languages are advantageous).
• Excellent work ethic: energetic, get-things-done attitude and take responsibility to deliver positive results beyond expectations.
• Solid proficiency in computer literacy and Microsoft Office stack.
• Understanding of general security and networking principles.
• Team player, able to work in a team and get along well with senior management.
• Ability to recommend solutions to improve efficiency.

Advantageous skills:

• BSC Information technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Governance Framework Knowledge (Cobit 2019, ISO 27001, ITIL etc).
• Well-developed and effective communication and presentation skills.
• Ability and competence to write technical material for training, and white papers using applications such as PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and handle confrontation when necessary.
• Ability to create accurate architectural designs.
