Banking and Investment Support Officer at Stonehage Fleming

OVERALL PURPOSE

• The individual will form part of the Banking and Investment Support team and to ensure a high quality and consistent client service. The individual will assist in the execution of instructions and various administrative tasks around bank account and investment management in an accurate way and by respecting appropriate deadlines.

Key Responsibilities: 

Principal Elements & Accountabilities

Banking:

• Open and close bank and investment accounts with core and non-core banks.
• Collaborate with financial institutions across various jurisdictions to establish client relationships.
• Maintain bank and investment accounts, including adding/removing beneficiaries/settlor/protector or granting power of attorney to third parties.
• Update and manage the E-Banking users list.
• Handle client onboarding and offboarding.
• Transfer equities, bonds, mutual funds, and private placements between custodians, fund administrators, or private companies.
• Input data into the in-house integrated database system to ensure up-to-date information.
• Respond to day-to-day queries from internal and external parties, resolving issues as they arise.
• Manage and execute business initiatives independently from inception to implementation.
• Perform relevant day-to-day people management tasks.

Investments:

• Prepare subscription and redemption instructions for Alternative Investments (e.g., Single Hedge Funds, Private Equity Funds, Property Funds).
• Input non-automated investment transactions into the in-house integrated database systems.
• Keep investment accounting up to date for line-by-line and non-automated client accounts.
• Manage and execute instructions for corporate actions, proxy votes, conversions, capital calls, and distributions.
• Collate KYC, FATCA, CRS, and compliance documentation for fund administrators and third parties.
• Prepare SWIFT payment instructions.
• Reconcile investment positions and address reconciliation breaks.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Appropriate degree or higher diploma with 5 to 8 years of experience in the financial industry.
• STEP qualifications are advantageous, but a good understanding of Offshore Trust and Company structures, including the relationships between Trust, Company, Trustee, and Beneficiaries, is essential.
• Team management experience required.
• Proficient in computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and modern financial accounting packages).
• Knowledge of Double Entry Bookkeeping and Multi-Currency accounting.
• Understanding of Financial Products.
