Barista – iCafe at Core Group

Job Description

• The iCafe at 1 Sandton Drive is looking for a passionate and service-driven Barista to join our team full-time.
• This role is perfect for someone who enjoys creating quality coffee, thrives in a dynamic retail environment, and values customer interaction.
• The successful candidate will work five days a week, including Saturdays, in line with retail hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve high-quality hot and cold beverages, including speciality coffee and teas, in line with iCafe standards.
• Deliver outstanding customer service by engaging with guests, taking orders accurately, and offering knowledgeable recommendations.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised café environment, adhering to hygiene and health and safety regulations at all times.
• Operate the point-of-sale system efficiently and manage transactions with attention to accuracy.
• Restock ingredients and consumables throughout the shift and ensure the display area remains appealing and well-presented.
• Support daily café operations and collaborate effectively with the broader iCafe and iStore team.
• Represent the iStore and iCafe brands professionally, ensuring a positive and memorable experience for all customers.

Requirements:

• Completed Matric
• Previous barista or café experience preferred. 
• Passion for coffee and creating excellent customer experiences.
• Friendly and approachable, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
• Punctual, reliable, and a strong team player.

Working Hours:

• 5 days per week (including one Saturday), based on a retail shift schedule.
• Flexibility for weekday shifts, including morning and afternoon coverage.
