Boilermaker at Gold One Group Limited

Qualifying Criteria:

• Grade 11 or equivalent qualification
• Relevant Trade Test from a recognised institution
• 4-6 years’ experience within a mining or industrial environment
• Trackless mining background will be an added advantage
• Expert knowledge of underground, surface and shaft installations
• Sound knowledge of fabrication skills and be able to interpret engineering fabrication and construction drawings
• Computer proficient (MS Excel)
• Must be physically fit and able to work on heights
• Proficient in English and any other of the 11 official languages
• Applicant must possess good verbal communication skills
• South African Citizenship
• Clear Criminal Record

 Responsibilities: 

• Work rotational shifts
• Quality Control and Support in Engineering / Boilermaking section
• Specialised knowledge to analyse and solve complex problems
• Inspect and repair all components of boilermaker systems and associated mechanical equipment
• Conduct all work according to required standards and specifications
• Ensure all boilermaking equipment is in good working order at all times
• Troubleshooting and detailed fault analysis
• Carrying out standard work place inspections and compliance checks and maintaining relevant procedures
• Assist in breakdowns when required
• Ensure that the correct safety equipment is worn at all times
• Manage and maintain in area of responsibility in accordance with mine standards, procedures and practices
• Adhere to MHSA standards & Gold1’s safety motto : “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely”
