Responsibilities and Duties

• Conduct fabrication, cutting and grinding
• Conduct planned maintenance and mechanical installations
• Welding duties
• Assist in the compilation of work procedures and risk assessments
• Conduct on-the-job training
• Building of conveyers, shoots and structures
• Implementation of preventative maintenance programs
• Maintaining current structures and conveyers
• Knowledge of building and refurbishing Bell Logger grabs (advantageous)

Qualifications and Skills

• Matric / Grade 12
• Trade certificate in Boilermaker
• 10 years’ experience as a Boilermaker
• Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment (sawmill industry advantageous)
• Knowledge of welding principles
• Working knowledge of mechanical equipment
• Knowledge and understanding of plant equipment and processes
• Knowledge pertaining to lock out and isolation procedures
• Computer literate
• Good communication skills
• Practical, problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Must be medically fit
• Valid driver’s license and willing to travel for onsite work
