Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 or equivalent
5 years working experience
Boilermaking or Welding Trade Test certificate
Ability to perform physical labour
Primary Duties
Production by welding pipes and pipe specials by manual arc welding, submerged-arc, TIG, CO² and gas welding. (longitudinally and circumferentially)
Welding of pipes and pipe specials to standards, required Rand Water standards and to pass NDT tests to the target of 98% and knowledge of pipe fitting and assembly of intricate pipe specials.
Conduct mini-risk assessments
Compliance with OHS Act.
Manage compliance with environmental legislation.
Recording of data related to the article/s being worked on e.g. Job numbers, time taken, length of welds deposited etc.
