Purpose of Job

• To provide an accurate and timeous record keeping and reporting function within the division

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, including preparing journal entries, accounts analysis and reconciliation, closing books monthly
• Assist outside auditors at year-end, including preparation of schedules, providing supporting documentation and explaining procedures
• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial accounts, including preparation of monthly income statement and balance sheet, reporting on changes in financial position/budget variances
• Assist with Budgets and Revised Profit Forecasts
• Prepare monthly expenditure schedules as required by the Financial Manager
• Assist in Monthly Stock Takes
• Balancing inter entity accounts
• Balance month end GL clearing accounts
• Balance and Maintain Cashbook accounts
• Processing of Invoices to Customers
• Recording and safe keeping of documentation
• Perform ad hoc projects as required
• Maintain the budgeted capex schedule with approved capex updates, balancing of Assets into Sage X3 monthly and assist with asset verification process in the business unit

Requirements

Education and Experience

• At least 3 years experience of bookkeeping to balance sheet. Sage X3 proficiency essential
• Bookkeeping certificate

Skills

• Computer Literacy on Accpac Windows (an advantage) and Excel
• Financial Numeracy
• Self motivated
• Ability to meet deadlines
