Bookkeeper at Hire Resolve

• Hire Resolve is seeking an ambitious, analytical Bookkeeper with 2 to 3 years of experience to join our client in the specialized insurance and underwriting sector based in Johannesburg. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional with strong analytical capabilities and high potential for career growth.

Key Performance Areas:

• General Ledger & Financial Records: Maintain accurate daily financial transactions, perform routine bookkeeping entries, and manage general ledger accounts.
• Reconciliations: Execute routine bank reconciliations, supplier statement reconciliations, and inter-company account balancing with high precision.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage processing of invoices, follow up on outstanding premium receivables, and reconcile payables.
• Financial Reporting Support: Assist with monthly management account preparations, trial balances, and financial trend analysis.
• Compliance & Auditing: Support statutory reporting requirements (e.g., VAT, PAYE) and assist external auditors with supporting documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Relevant Qualification in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Finance (BCom Degree or National Diploma preferred).
• Experience: 2 to 3 years of solid bookkeeping / accounting experience, ideally within insurance, underwriting, financial services, or corporate environments.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial accounting software (e.g., Sage, Pastel, or Xero) and intermediate to advanced MS Excel capabilities.
• Core Competencies: Exceptional analytical skills, numerical accuracy, strong problem-solving ability, and a proactive drive for continuous learning and career progression.
