Key Areas of Impact:

Efficient Customer Service

• Manage the prioritization of orders with sales and customer service departments
• Manage Distribution Centre (DC) errors and lost sales on sales orders

Continuous improvement

• Continuous report on systems performance
• Reduce overtime, temporary labour and maintenance cost
• Visual management of the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) scorecard
• Compile daily, weekly and monthly reports. Send them to the DC Management
• Monitor progress of action plans of projects
• Implementation of continuous improvement initiatives in the DC to assist with operational growth and capacity demands to align with company strategy and best practice

Quality, Safety and Housekeeping

• Ensure warehouse distribution good manufacturing practice
• Monitor the completion of rack and stacking inspections timeously
• Monitor the completion of material handling equipment check sheets and ensure that equipment is in good condition and safe to use
• Maintain general good housekeeping standards
• Oversee that incident forms are completed and proper investigations are done
• Monitor stock accuracy in the warehouses and ensure that it conforms to the documented DC stock accuracy targets
• Take corrective action to continuously improve accuracy
• Investigate bin overview queries immediately
• Implement all quality, safety and housekeeping standards, policies and procedures
• Develop and coordinate continuous improvement plans for quality and safety compliance
• Assist in the development of company policies and procedures
• Coordinate the implementation of all inventory related SOP’s
• Monitor the completion of material handling equipment check sheets and ensure that equipment is in good condition and safe to use

Lead and managing the Bulk picking team

• Manage efficiency of Pickers
• Manage accuracy of team
• Ensure orders are completed and aligned as per NAPD Not after pick by date.
• Ensure transfer orders are picked accurately and in time allocated.
• Manage processes and procedures as per company guidelines.
• Manage team time and attendance.
• Implement the performance management and talent process team members
• Motivate staff by ensuring incentives, rewards and recognition are given and fair to the company and staff
• Utilize disciplinary procedures effectively
• Allocate the correct number of people and skill to the various areas of responsibility
• Allocate the correct equipment to execute tasks effectively and efficiently

Stock Accuracy

• Monitor stock accuracy in the warehouses and ensure that it conforms to the documented DC stock accuracy targets
• Take corrective action to continuously improve accuracy
• Investigate bin overview queries immediately.

What It Takes to Succeed:

Experience that set you up for success:                       

• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in warehousing

Qualifications & Certifications that will contribute to your success:

• Grade 12 / Matric qualification
• NQF5 qualification in Supply Chain Management, Stores Management or Operations Management
