    Business Analyst Africa

    Reporting to the BDB EMA Marketing Manager, the BDB Business Analyst, Africa will be responsible for creating and managing BI and analytics solutions that turn data into knowledge.

    In this role, the individual should have a background in data and business analysis. This person should be analytical and an excellent communicator. Proficient business acumen and problem-solving aptitude is required. This person will have the responsibility of enhancing our business intelligence system to assist in more insightful business decisions. 

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design, develop and maintain business intelligence solutions. Providing clear, concise reports (on various platforms- excel/PowerPoint etc.) from various sets of data, to offer insight required as input into critical business decisions.
    • Effectively work within a matrix environment across various business within the BDB structure
    • Assist in Identifying potential opportunities by analysing market data including warm liner reports, consumption and inventory data.
    • Develop a system for collecting and consolidating warm line data using data from business managers, territory managers, and application specialists.  
    • Work with the BDB Commercial and Applications team to identify and help develop customer-based strategies
    • Have the ability to present data to various stakeholders in the business (Business Director, Business Leader Territory manager, marketing manager etc.) w
    • Crafting and executing queries upon request for data
    • Presenting information through reports and visualization
    • Critical analysis of demand and supply to ensure robust forecasting and business planning
    • Own and be accountable for various developed data models, analysis tools and presentation formats
    • Develop a clear understanding of BDB Channels, markets, region and products in order provide appropriate   analysis of the market, trends etc.
    • Continuously increasing understanding of the BDB products/markets/customers and channels
    • Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
    • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and BD core values
    • Flexibility in working across many data platform Salesforce Dot Com, Mercury, BPC, Qlicksense etc
    • Coordinate and enter quarterly projection and annual ASR/Budget data into BPC system in partnership with the BDB Africa Territory Managers
    • Review configuration pricing with commercial managers on an ongoing basis
    • Manage product categorizations for all of the BDB segments for consistency and structure
    • Develop KPIs and create reports and analysis to support the Marketing and Commercial organization

    Internal interface & Operational effectiveness

    • Work in coordination with other BDB BD segments to identify cross business opportunities
    • Work closely with Marketing, Applications, Finance, Customer Service, Distributor Excellence and Commercial assurance teams.

    Education and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, Commerce  or another analytical discipline
    • Preferably one years of analytics, computer science, or similar analytics field work-related experience
    • Experience & knowledge of data and analytics utilizing market business intelligence
    • Experience with revenue forecasting, through seasonal modeling, linear regression, macro drivers, and/or sales funnels
    • Fundamental understanding of database design
    • Experience with MS Access
    • Some Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and other technology-based productivity tools (e.g. Salesforce.com,)

    Required Skills:

    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
    • Intermediate computer experience with particular proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint programs
    • Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
    • Ability to demonstrate critical and strategic thinking skills, including decision making skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
