    Business Analyst I

    Introduction

    • We are looking to recruit a Business Analyst I to work within Business Analysis Team in the IT department of Clicks Group Services. The role will be based at Clicks Head Office in Cape Town and will report to the Business Analysis Manager.

    Job Purpose

    • The Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for identifying business needs, analyzing requirements, and proposing solutions that deliver value within the retail sector.
    • This role plays a critical part in bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, with a focus on the end-to-end retail value chain including but not limited to procurement, inventory management, merchandising, store operations, and customer engagement whether instore or online/Omnichannel.
    • There are opportunities to work on various projects depending on demand and BAU/small requests/demand logs.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan/Strategise approach to BA work.
    • Facilitate sessions e.g. workshops, interviews, with stakeholders.
    • Elicit, analyze, and document requirements across the retail value chain.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define solutions and support implementation.
    • Document as-is and to-be process with improvement to processes/gap analysis.
    • Manage UAT: support testing and validation of solutions to ensure requirements are met.
    • Create and maintain clear quality documentation e.g. BRDs, user stories (with acceptance criteria), process maps, impact assessments.
    • Manage Requirements e.g. Traceability.
    • Provide pre-project support e.g. input to business case.
    • Provide Support post implementation e.g. Support/Demand requests/BAU.
    • Assisting business realise benefits with evidence of benefits tracking (e.g. reduced costs).
    • Contribution to BACOE (Business Analysis Centre of Excellence).
    • Adhere to BA Governance.
    • Continuous Improvement/Ongoing development.
    • Live the Clicks values.

    Minimum requirements

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field, and/or related Business Analysis certification (e.g. through FTI – Faculty Training Institute or IIBA - International Institute of Business Analysis).

    Experience

    • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Business Analyst.
    • Retail experience (advantageous).
    • Project experience (advantageous).
    • Experience in Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid project environments (advantageous).

    Skills and Knowledge

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
    • Ability to collaborate with technical teams and translate business needs into technical requirements.
    • Knowledge of retail trends, technology, and consumer behavior (advantageous).
    • Proficiency in business analysis tools (advantageous).
    • BPMN (Business Process Modelling Notation) (advantageous).
