Business Analyst at Santam Insurance

What will you do?

• Santam Reinsurance has an exciting opportunity available in our Reinsurance department at Head Office in Cape Town to fulfil the role for a Business Analyst in the Sasria and Reinsurance Systems team.

• The Business Analyst plays a key role in helping business to implement business initiatives and will serve as the bridge between the business and stakeholders. 
• The Business analyst must determine the requirements, and communicate it clearly to stakeholders, facilitators and partners.  

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Intermediary between the development team, business users and stakeholders.
• Analyse, document and maintain business requirements and functional specifications and translated into development requirements 
• Responsible for the writing of user stories that are clear and concise for implementation by the development team
• Participate in quality assurance, user acceptance testing as well as demo’s and training of new solutions
• Provide support and collaborate with change management, training, design, development and testing competencies 
• Provide support function to business for all documentation
• Ability to troubleshoot document issues
• Good eye for document design
• Ensure document specifications repository is maintained

Qualifications and Exeprience

• Relevant Tertiary qualification or certificate/diploma in business analysis from an industry recognized training institution
• CBAP Certification will be advantageous 
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as Business Analyst 
• Knowledge and experience as a business analyst involved in projects and SRS’s on the Guidewire Insurance platform advantageous

Experience with:

• Writing business requirements and user stories 
• Working with systems development lifecycle (SDLC), and agile methodologies 
• Understanding test methodology and providing support and input to test strategy, test plans, test cases and scenarios, user acceptance testing, setting up test data and test environments, review test results
• Experience in the following areas will be advantageous
• Short term insurance or financial services industry 
• Experience in the use of Jira and Confluence
