    Business Development Manager

    Job Description

    • A well-established South African company in Johannesburg, Gauteng is expanding its product portfolio to include a new range of forklifts and industrial floor cleaning machines. The business seeks a highly driven, commercially astute Business Development Manager to drive growth across these new lines.
    • This is an opportunity to take a lead role in launching two new equipment ranges backed by strong technical support and supply chain infrastructure and the mandate is to establish and grow these new equipment lines in the South African market.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct detailed market analysis to identify potential customers, market segments, competitors, and growth opportunities.
    • Proactively identify and engage potential customers in warehousing, logistics, industrial, and commercial sectors.
    • Drive full-cycle B2B sales from lead generation to closing deals.
    • Develop and execute sales strategies to build market share across both product categories.
    • Build a robust sales pipeline and deliver consistently against set revenue targets.
    • Collaborate with internal technical, service, and operational teams to ensure seamless client onboarding and long-term satisfaction.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in capital equipment sales, preferably forklifts, cleaning machines or related industrial equipment.
    • Strong technical aptitude with proven ability to conduct product demonstrations and recommend application-specific solutions.
    • Demonstrated ability to open new accounts and drive sales growth in untapped or competitive markets.
    • Entrepreneurial mindset with the resilience and initiative required to build new business streams.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
    • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel nationally as required.
