Our client is seeking an experienced, high-performing Business Development Manager to join their team in Rosebank. In this role, you will be responsible for prospecting, sourcing, developing, and maintaining a specialized Investment Intermediary portfolio. You will play a pivotal role in driving market share growth for retail investment solutions while delivering on key investment channel strategies across Johannesburg and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Service an existing supporting Intermediary client base.
Source and introduce new Intermediaries to our client’s platform.
Support and collaborate with relevant Broker Corporate Businesses and Independent Intermediary businesses.
Attract new business and increase the retention of existing investment business across Local, International, Structured, and Guaranteed Products.
Directly grow and manage an Intermediary Portfolio to ensure profitable annual sales volumes and monthly targets are met.
Ensure intermediaries adhere strictly to all regulatory requirements (e.g., FAIS, FICA, POPIA).
Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan covering sales volumes, investment education/training, marketing, client services, digital platform usage, and expanding the support base.
Implement an effective Intermediary support model to facilitate seamless coordination between our client, brokers, and various product and service providers.
Train, educate, and develop Intermediaries and their support staff on all investment solutions (Local, International, Structured Products, and Guaranteed Products).
Facilitate the usage of digital strategy tools and e-initiatives.
Supply accurate investment, product, fund, service, and investor information.
Identify intermediary needs regarding technical information, technology, reporting, and building a profitable practice.
Support investment projects, initiatives, and marketing campaigns.
Participate in investment product implementations through presentations, product development input, and client service support.
Coordinate and maintain effective Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with both internal and external stakeholders.
8 to 10 years of experience in a financial distribution environment (experience within a Linked Investment Service Provider / LISP or Investment Management Company is recommended).
Proven track record in supporting and developing Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) practices.
Demonstrated sales success and a strong performance track record.
Deep technical knowledge of retail investments and the retail investment industry.
Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication alongside confident presentation skills.
Problem Solving: Strong lateral thinking capabilities and ability to work effectively under pressure.
Personal Traits: High self-confidence with a positive "can-do" attitude, high-performance orientation, persuasiveness, and unwavering honesty, integrity, and respect.
Ability to thrive both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
