    Business Development Manager

    Business Development Manager

    A JSE listed entity specialisng in morden workplace solutions is seeking an experienced Bsuiness Development Manager. The incumbent will be accountable for selling solutions across all sectors with a targeted focus on specialised business segments and the relationship building at senior management and executive levels to acquire and retain sustainable revenue streams. To engage with operations to ensure effective delivery of co-designed solutions.

    Minimum Experience:

    • A minimum of 3 -5 years senior sales experience
    • Grade 12 or equivalent 
    • Revelant Bachelors Degree or Diploma
    • Experience canvassing complex workplace solutions to prospective clients at senior management level and C Suite
    • Extensive knowledge and experience of building client and key stakeholder relationships
    • Experience in crafting and developing solutions
    • Proven experience in ability to influence, chase and conclude deals
    • Sound knowledge of industry related legislation an advantage

    Relevant skills/competencies may include:

    • Understand cause and effect drivers of environmental forces in macro environment;
    • Is perceptive to changes and identifies national trends that will impact the future of the industry;
    • Participate in the development of a strategic competitor intelligence platform to give insight into the impact of the competitor landscape at regional level;
    • Execute strategies to secure sustainable market dominance in diverse and profitable market segments;
    • Display a conceptual understanding of the strategic intent and direction of the company and how the portfolio contributes towards company objectives;
    • Perform a strategic operational partnership role in translating and aligning sales and client relationship services to support and optimise growth, market share and profitability;
    • Display a conceptual systems understanding of critical end-to-end workplace solution processes and risks;
    • Active participation in all tenders related to new national opportunities and national tenders on all existing accounts;
    • Accountable for ensuring all aspects of the client requirements are addressed in the proposal based on the intimate client knowledge gained


    • Position resourcing solutions to clients at senior management level by harnessing the IP of the business;
    • Codesign complex solutions for client environment to facilitate optimal value and added growth;
    • Display an in-depth understanding of resourcing segment operating models;
    • Determine client operation strategies in order to conduct value diagnosis with clients to enable solution selling fit to client business requirements;
    • Understand the key drivers of pricing economics and how pricing tactics can be leveraged against demand to enhance service offering profitability;
    • Actively drive revenue growth plans set out in budget by the Sales Executive of the Resourcing Pillar;
    • Find new target markets and penetrate them to drive revenue growth;
    • Develop and maintain client relations, understand their business models and strategic plans and then document and design solutions to meet their requirements;
    • Develop and enhance workplace solution model to present to new target markets and assist the growth and operations team to penetrate them to drive revenue growth;
    • Present resourcing solutions to senior management clients, this will include creating sound business cases and value propositions;
    • Facilitate client discussion workshops where applicable with relevant stakeholders;


    • Develop, plan and manage individual short-term and long-term targets taking into account company priorities and constraints;
    • Participate in conducting cost-benefit analysis to design costing models for differential client solutions;
    • Prepare costing in conjunction with operations;

    • Motivate, coach, mentor and develop colleagues, ensuring the continuous development of self and others, creating organisation-wide learning enabled environment

    • Establish and maintain collaborative, cross functional relationships and strategic alliance partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen synergies, the company brand and to improve the effective and efficient execution of objectives in line with the company strategy;
    • Establish and consolidate good interpersonal relationships by seeking alternative opinions and perspectives, listening to others and objectively considering conflicting views;
