Business Improvement Superintendent, D4, KHT062/23GS - Emalahleni at Seriti

The role:

• Responsible for driving and supporting the overall Continuous Improvement (CI) program within Seriti

The duties will include but are not limited to:

• Facilitate or support site and functional diagnostics where required
• Ensure that improvement processes and annual target setting are aligned and embedded in the Regional Operating System and Business Planning process
• Responsible for providing and coordinating coaching and support on systems that support the Region’s CI objectives to individuals within the organisation
• Provide support in the practical application of process improvement skills as well as knowledge of the philosophy of process improvement
• Provide guidance and support to operations and functions on improvement structures as well as succession planning, linked into the regional talent management process
• Provide capability-building support to individuals in improvement structures with targeted training, coaching and skills assessments
• Provide oversight to ensure functional improvement efforts are aligned to operational needs and that cross-functional improvements are properly scoped and addressed

You will need:

• Diploma / Degree in Engineering, Mining, or in a related field
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Operations of which 2 years in a Managerial position
• Track record of implementation of improvement projects or methodologies at one or more site
• Process improvement
• Report writing ability
• Proficiency in SAP and MS office
• Valid driver’s license
• In possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness

Advantageous:

• Technical experience and expertise in Mine Closure, environmental management, mining, or heavy industrial processes (metallurgy, mining chemical engineering, environmental)
• Mine Overseer Certificate of Competency
• Mine Manager Certificate of Competency
• Underground and or Opencast Blasting Certificate
• Business/Process Improvement qualification such as Six Sigma Black Belt level, Lean and Agile
