    Business Intelligence Reporting & Insights Analyst (Data Analyst)

    Job Description

    CHEP is currently recruiting for a Business Intelligence Reporting & Insights Analyst (Data Analyst) to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team! This role reports to the Business Intelligence Manager who is committed to his team members development. The successful candidate can be based in Durban OR Gauteng.

    The BI Reporting and Insight Analyst is responsible for the scoping, development, and implementation of Business Intelligence Products to the business based on business requirements. This includes full stack development from data gathering, ETL implementation, modelling and final production of the Business Intelligence Product.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Engage stakeholders across the regions within the specific function based on business requirements.
    • Translate business requirements into actionable user-friendly business intelligence products for support of strategy and decision making.
    • Translate data from multiple data sources into information and insights to drive decision making at several levels i.ie. data driven decision making.
    • Develop and deploy ETL solutions to extract data from several data sources, transform and load into the warehouse (Amazon (AWS) RDS).
    • Implement the deployment of business intelligence solutions based on guidelines in place.
    • Develop and deploy reports/dashboards and data products as per business needs in IMETA (ensuring data accuracy and stability).
    • Complete documentation about reports/dashboards/data products created to transition the to the business and internal back up plans.
    • Propose enhancements on new/current reports (standardization, usability, workload).
    • Frequently ensure that reports/dashboards/databases are timely updated and in accordance with set standards to ensure business has the most updated in time reports, dashboards, etc.
    • Deliver on various projects at once across various regions for the function/s within the individuals accountability.
    • Assist in the implementation of dashboards, reports and data products within the Business Intelligence product suite.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Qualification: Technology/Statistics/Information Management/ Information Systems/ Financial Management /Computer Science related degree (3-year degree)
    • Minimum of 3 years working experience in a similar role (Business Intelligence analyst/Data Engineer/Data Analyst).
    • Previous business intelligence experience is a non-negotiable specifically in:
    • Experience working with multiple datasets, data modelling and database knowledge (Experience with Amazon RDS is a plus).
    • ETL Experience (Design, development and deployment of ETL processed).
    • Experience in writing SQL queries, developing procedures, functions, etc. within the SQL environment.
    • Experience in merging a variety of datasets into meaning insights and information for decision making.
    • Previously developed business intelligence visualization products specifically PowerBI solutions.
    • Experience translating business requirements into powerful business solutions.
    • Worked with measures and KPIs.
    • Change management.
    • Project management experience (running with priorities, standardization, automation, troubleshooting and short-term planning).
    • SAP Business Objects and SAP BW experience (is a plus)

    Technical skills:

    • Analytical Skills.
    • Full Business Intelligence stack skills: SQL (Proficient) and SSMS; ETL (Medium) in SSIS.; Modelling (SSAS).
    • Visualization, dashboard development and storytelling (PowerBI (Advanced)). Medium Proficiency.
    • Excel (Advanced skills).
