CAD Technician - Water/ Hydrologic and Hydraulic at Woolpert

We believe great companies are built from exceptional people and amazing clients. Because of our growth we are now excited to be adding a CAD Technician to our new Johannesburg Water/Hydrologic and Hydraulic Team!

Essential Functions:

• Develop, implement, and document data management workflows, specifications, and processes
• Support Project Managers and Engineers with engineering design tasks for various projects related to site design, water, sewer, drainage, and roadway
• Use AutoDesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD to develop engineering and design documents.
• Communicate with design team about  concepts, data, and specific needs associated with the completion of design deliverables.
• Manage personal task assignments and  adheres to project scope of work, schedule and budget on all assigned tasks.
• Perform basic calculations to analyze and  design civil system components using Civil 3D or MicroStation.
• Assist with engineering duties on projects of various complexity.
• Assists with collecting data and gathering information to support design decisions.
• Create a storm design and profiles in pipe networks.
• Participate in firm-wide quality initiatives. 
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications / Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Associate Degrees in Computer-Aided drafting and Design is advantageous, but not required.
• Must have 2+ years related experience.
• Must be able to read, analyze and interpret basic technical documents.
• Must be able to apply mathematical concepts.
• Must have average verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external relationships.
• Must be able to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, and/or members of the business community.
• Must have Microsoft Office suite skills.
• Must possess a highly proficient expertise in and AutoCAD software 
• Preferred to have experience in AutoDesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD software or Microstation.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to operate and manipulate standard office equipment.
• Must be able to occasionally reach and bend.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
