Candidate Engineering Geologist at AECOM

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking to hire a Junior Engineer Geologist who will be based in Bellville, Cape Town. As the Junior Engineering Geologist you will be able and experienced with knowledge of geological and geotechnical investigation work. You will be interacting on diverse projects and design applications, which will offer you both local and international experience as well as providing you with valued training and development of your professional geotechnical/geological career.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Utilize basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
• Plan, manage and execute engineering geological and geotechnical site investigations.
• Site supervision of geotechnical contractors.
• Profiling of soils, logging rock core and sampling.
• Compiling and analysing geotechnical data including soil laboratory test results.
• Assessing data and compiling engineering geological reports.
• Computing data including soil and rock logs, GIS information and project drawings.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the field of engineering geology/geotechnical engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum BSc (Hons) degree with Engineering Geology or Applied geology.
