Understand the business and product needs for pricing and sourcing and ensure that sourcing recommendations align within Plant and Global Commodity Strategy for respective commodity.
Establish and execute strategies for assigned commodities.
Obtains and analyzes quotes to determine best value.
Recommend sourcing solutions based on data and facts collected.
Attend Global Commodity Management calls for assigned commodities as plant representative.
Understand and effectively utilize key cost drivers and industry related events to assigned commodities.
Formulate annual business plans for achievement of cost reductions and year over year performance improvement.
Manage and negotiate supply agreements that require improvements in suppliers’ cost, payment cycles, technology, and/or risk mitigation.
Initiates renegotiation efforts well in advance of contract expiration and monitors industry trends to anticipate opportune timing to lock in contracting advantages.
Monitors performance of the suppliers to ensure attainment of objectives.
Coordinates supplier selection
Leads supplier transitions and resourcing’s.
Identify opportunities for leverage of volumes and purchasing power.
Support from purchasing function to Customer Project Launches
Ensure and monitor the results and contribution, of the assigned commodity, to departmental and corporate objectives.
Presents special assignments results, project updates and such to Dana management as required.
Lead and manage capital procurement per regional and global requirements
Manage Toolstore Buyer
Responsible for the purchasing strategy through the cost-effective procurement of goods and services within the special portfolio of suppliers, in support of the Toolstore and Operational Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing/Logistics or Engineering
Previous experience in an automotive manufacturing environment essential
Experience
5-7 years related professional experience
English (fluency in reading, writing and speaking)
