KEY OUTPUTS

• To minimise financial risk by effectively managing patient authorisations.
• To consistently and timeously communicate with the funders as contractually agreed through the relevant case management channels.
• To minimise financial risks.
• Obtain, confirms and update authorisation for patient treatment prior to admission.
• To ensure correct and timeous finalisation of cases to facilitate reimbursements from funders of claims.
• Obtains, captures clinical biodata on UMS system.
• To ensure correct and timeous finalisation of cases to facilitate reimbursements from funders of claims.

REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• Previous Private hospital experience will be an advantage.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and good data capturing skills.
• Solid knowledge of clinical coding.
• Maintains a customer-centred mind-set that acknowledges the value of the customer.
• Solid knowledge and application of patient administration systems, policies and procedures.
• Good accuracy and attention detail skills in order to maintain high standards in work output.
• The ability to work under pressure.
• Utilizes self-management techniques in order to proactively improve own performance.
• Good interpersonal skills, the ability to deal with people.
