A well-established retail company is looking for an experienced finance professional to join their finance team. This role will suit someone who enjoys reconciliations, has strong attention to detail, and is confident working with high volumes of transactions.
Duties include:
Daily banking and balancing of cash
Investigating and resolving banking queries
Importing sales information into ACCPAC
Processing bank statements
Preparing monthly cashbook and debtors reconciliations
Investigating and resolving reconciling items
Processing and reconciling loyalty transactions
Ensuring revenue and expenses are correctly allocated to the General Ledger
Verifying monthly pension float banking
Maintaining supporting documentation for reconciliations and audits
Assisting stores with banking and cashbook queries
Assisting with month-end reporting and ad hoc finance duties
Ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
Requirements
Matric
BCom Degree or National Diploma in Accounting/Finance advantageous
Minimum 5 years' accounting experience in a creditors, cashbook or reconciliations role
Previous experience in a retail, FMCG or manufacturing environment preferred
Sound accounting knowledge
Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables and charts)
Experience on ACCPAC would be an advantage
Good attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure
