About the job

The J.P. Morgan sub-Saharan Africa investment banking team is responsible for origination and execution of public and private M&A and capital markets transactions involving corporate and financial sponsor clients in the sub-Saharan Africa region. The team has a network of relationships with some of the most prominent corporations in the region.

Job Summary

As an Associate in the team, the candidate will play a vital and accountable role in driving client deliverables and supporting senior colleagues to prepare for strategic dialogue with key clients and originating M&A and capital market transactions. The candidate will work closely with colleagues from London-based industry and product teams (M&A, ECM, DCM etc.) within Investment Banking and also Johannesburg-based colleagues from other JPMorgan lines of business (e.g. Markets).

Core Responsibilities

• Member of the SSA IB team, helping to develop and implement JPM's business strategy for the Sub-Saharan Africa region

• Provide country input and intelligence to regional colleagues

The successful candidate will possess or demonstrate the following personal and professional attributes:

• Strong investment banking experience
