Civil Design Technician / Technologist / Engineer at WSP in Africa

Job Description:

• To function in a Design Team as a civil designer.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Able to perform AutoCAD Civil 3D designs of the following;

• Tailings storage facilities
• Embankment and internal drainage systems
• Water dams
• Peripheral infrastructure
• General arrangements
• Concrete detailing
• General earthworks modelling for mining projects
• Geotechnical site investigation plans
• Major and minor road modelling
• Hydraulic structures
• Stormwater Management Plans
• Muk 3D deposition plans

HEALTH AND SAFETY

• Role model standards for SHEQ performance and behaviour consistent with the company’s health, safety, environmental and quality vision and policies by influencing those around you
• Contributing to the identification of SHEQ risks and driving processes to achieve Zero Harm
• Embracing, displaying and promoting the company values and ensuring a safe working environment is maintained at all times

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution.
• Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience in design of mine infrastructure and dams
• Highly competent with civil engineering design using Autodesk Civil 3D software
