RPO Recruitment's client, a well-established civil engineering consulting firm based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineering Technologist to join its growing team.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of civil infrastructure projects, including roads, stormwater, municipal services, earthworks, and residential and commercial developments, while gaining valuable exposure within a professional consulting environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the planning, design, and implementation of civil engineering projects
Prepare civil engineering drawings and layouts using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
Undertake stormwater, roads, earthworks, and municipal services design
Assist with the preparation of engineering reports, specifications, and tender documentation
Perform quantity calculations and compile Bills of Quantities
Conduct site inspections and monitor construction progress
Liaise with clients, contractors, local authorities, and multidisciplinary project teams
Assist with project administration and contract documentation
Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, regulations, and municipal requirements
Requirements:
BTech in Civil Engineering
Registration with ECSA as a Candidate Engineering Technologist or Professional Engineering Technologist will be advantageous
Desired experience in roads and transportation infrastructure, stormwater management systems, sewer and water reticulation, earthworks and site development, residential, commercial, and municipal infrastructure projects
Construction monitoring and contract administration experience
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
Experience in civil infrastructure design and draughting
Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Valid driver's licence
