This career opportunity is available at Santam Direct for the Claims Department. The role is based in Bellville, Cape Town.
The Non Mtor Claims Service Consultant is accountable for all motor claim interactions directly with the client. Processing of claims administration end to end and is responsible for co-ordinating and overseeing all actions on claims in this channel. The CSC will ensure that the assessor’s settlement instructions are processed and expedited through engaging with the relevant stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Receive claim and facilitate resolution - Claims Service Consultant Desktop is responsible for the full quantum and merit process.
- Handling of client queries.
- Determine merit, investigation and determine whether external service providers are required.
- Assess claims by reviewing digital images or document received.
- Proactive identification of fraudulent cases and recovery potential.
- Negotiate and authorize settlement telephonically.
- Expedite claim in case of non-motor building.
- Interaction with the Police, Weather Bureau etc. to validate merits.
- Understands legal liability considerations in given claims.
- Quantify the loss - determine basic, limited item identification (value and proof of ownership).
- Review equivalent replacement value from quotation provided by the client or phoning suppliers or getting input from experts.
- Decide on settlement recommendation / recommend rejection to Claims Committee.
- Refer claim to Claims Technical Advice for Policy interpretation issues
- Negotiate settlement - replacement or repair / cash / claims card.
Qualifications And Experience
- Matric / Grade 12
- An insurance qualification is recommended (NQF 4)
- 3 years’ experience in short term claims environment with focus on Personal Lines
- Knowledge of FNOL (First Notification of Loss)

- Computer Literate (MS Office Package)/ BPM
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
- Ability to work under pressure
