Claims Specialist - Johannesburg at Munich Re

As the Claims Specialist, you will report into the Head of Life Claims.

Your Job:

• Providing claims risk management expertise to the MRoA Life team and MRoA clients.
• Market claims risk management services to MRoA clients (Life Insurance companies).
• Provide technical skills and support with regards to Life Insurance and Reinsurance.
• Promote and ensure claims risk management practices relating to the MRoA Life portfolio.
• Build relationships with Claims Managers and other decision makers.
• Ensure profitability of portfolios through prudent claims risk management practices.
• Provide advice to clients with regards to international and local best practice with regards to Life Insurance and claims risk management practices, specifically on behalf of MRoA.
• Responsibility to ensure validity of claims.
• Ability to analyse data that inform business practices and approaches.

Your Profile:

Qualification:

• BSc – Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology or Equivalent.

Experience & Skills:

• Minimum 5 years experience at a Reinsurer in Life Claims management.
• Minimum 10 years claims assessment and case management experience in the insurance industry (dealing with Life Claims).
• Communication skills.
• Negotiations skills.
• Report writing skills.
• Financial Knowledge.
• Computer literacy.
