Utilise clinical expertise to provide clinical guidance and strategic direction to the Provincial TB Directorate, Provincial HOD and high burdened district TB Co-ordinators on clinical governance and training on HIV and TB clinical care
Provide technical support to the PDoH on policy revision, district health policy framework and strategy revision
Coordinate and manage consultation with NDoH directorates, PDoH and district management to discuss DS and DR TB policy revision
Plan and oversee meetings and workshops to discuss policy revision
Provision and analysis of Programme Data as required
Work with PDoH to develop dissemination outputs
Assist with curricula development and resource material within the field of HIV and TB management
Apply appropriate adult teaching methodologies
Perform clinical/mortality audits and regular site visits and reporting with recommendations and follow up
Contribute to development of operational plans
Liaise with internal and external customers/stakeholders
Document challenges and successes for future utilization in the scaling up of interventions
Assist with any ad hoc requests made by the NDoH
Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize healthcare processes and enhance TB service delivery
Requirements
Education
A medical degree and be registered Medical Practitioner with the HPCSA
Diploma in TB or HIV management
Advantageous
Post graduate diploma/Masters’ degree in Public Health
Knowledge of quantitative fields such as epidemiology or biostatistics
Certificate in Project Management
Advanced Paediatric HIV and TB management experience
Experience in management of DS-TB and DR TB
Previous experience in supporting tuberculosis projects/programmes (drug-sensitive or drug-resistant) at a National, Provincial and District level
Data analytics and understanding of TB HIV indicators
Knowledge of Quality Improvement methodology and Project management
Ability to work independently and work as part of a diverse and multidisciplinary team
Experience
At least 5 years’ experience in provision of DS and DR TB management and management of complex TB HIV co-infected patients
At least three years of experience with analysing data
Experience in conducting didactic and online training to clinicians and HCWs and mentoring on clinical management and practice
Rural health experience advantageous
Experience in developing training resource material and training aids to assist implementation
Good stakeholder engagement and management experience
Ability to do presentations to management and leadership within DoH and internally
A proven ability to be creative in knowledge transfer methodologies
A track record of being able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team with a willingness to learn about other medical disciplines
Extensive experience in TB and HIV/AIDS treatment and care
Training peers and other cadre of health care workers
